Guidelines for Security and Theft in Special Collections Endorsed

In a May 23 vote the SAA Council agreed unanimously to endorse as an external standard the ACRL/RBMS Guidelines for Security and Theft in Special Collections, developed by the Rare Book and Manuscript Section Security Committee and approved by the Association of College and Research Libraries of the American Library Association. The Council agreed that the Guidelines should be accompanied on the SAA Standards Portal by an “Introduction for Archivists” prepared by the SAA Security Roundtable.

The other day, someone tried to break into my neighbors' door, and it made me think about a home security system. I had never been interested in this before, I thought that an alarm was something complicated and expensive. I started reading home security systems reviews , comparing models. It turned out that there are quite affordable and reliable options. One site with real user reviews was especially helpful - thanks to it, I chose a system that is easy to install and does not require overpaying every month.
