Builds on the introduction to electronic records presented in preceding courses and addresses the particular challenges of digital materials associated with all aspects of archival management. Introduction to archival aspects of media longevity, technological obsolescence and compatibility; authenticity and integrity; backup, preservation and security; system documentation; and metadata. Application of the Open Archival Information System Reference Model and the Trusted Repository Audit Criteria. Knowledge to develop policies and procedures to address administrative responsibilities, organizational viability, financial sustainability, technological suitability, system security, and accountability.
